Understanding Cholesterol

 Understanding Cholesterol

I have come to realize that cholesterol is an important and indispensable part of our makeup and chemistry. It is said that all animal cells manufacture cholesterol with relative production rates, varying by cell type and organ function. Those who know states that: about 20–25% of total daily cholesterol production occurs in the liver; other organs of higher synthesis rates include the intestines, adrenal glands and reproductive organs.

It has been determined that: cholesterol is required among other things to build and maintain membranes and modulates membrane fluidity over the range of physiological temperatures; that cholesterol is important and necessary for human health. It is only when high cholesterol levels is in the blood that it can damage arteries and cause cardiovascular disease(see wikipedia.org/wiki/lipprotein).

I often heard about bad cholesterol and good cholesterol and didn't know the difference, and did not care to know until one day my doctor asked me if I was taking anything for cholesterol? When I said no, He told me that my existing cholesterol levels were normal.

I believe he did the blood test, to determine whether my blood pressure which was abnormally high was the result of bad cholesterol. He noted that bad cholesterol is now known to be strongly associated with cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis. In addition both diseases are known to lead to myocardial infarction (heart attack), stroke, and peripheral vascular disease.

It is gratifying to find out in an article that I read that high concentrations of functional HDL (high density lipoproteins), can remove cholesterol from cells, which is a protective role of these "good cholesterol". Also, that these benefits are mostly genetically determined, but can be changed by body build, medication, food choices, and other factors.

Research has shown that some plants make cholesterol in very small amounts which is called   phytosterols (substances chemically similar to cholesterol produced within plants). In addition, that these substances, can compete with cholesterol for re-absorption in the intestinal tract, thus potentially reducing cholesterol re-absorption. Also that among others, soluble fiber can reduce the absorption of cholesterol into your bloodstream.

I strongly believe  as well, that one should use herbs and other supplements to help clean  and refresh the intestines, adrenal glands and reproductive organs from time to time because these organs are involved in higher synthesis rate of cholesterol.  It is in these regards that I feel that my taking of a supplement and liver cleansing herbs, contributed to my normal cholesterol level as indicated earlier.

As you can see, suffice it to say that high concentration of bad cholesterol, LDL (low density lipoproteins) and their particles in the blood are not the only cause for high blood pressure(HBP) or cardiovascular disease. In my own case I can say that cholesterol was not the cause of my HBP or a contributing factor. I believe I know the root cause of my HBP of which I shall write later and how I am treating it.

Finally, may I suggest having a blood pressure monitoring unit and a home cholesterol-monitoring device as they are used to determine one’s Blood pressure and lipoprotein profile or your cholesterol level, and if you are predisposed you should do everything to keep it within normal range. If you are so inclined then the hypercet cholesterol formula should be of interest to you.You can buy it here or get more information by high lighting the three lines right here:
Natural support for yourcholesterol. The Hypercet cholesterol Formula acts as a general tonicsupporting the cardiovascular system. Supports good and bad cholesterol levelswithin the normal range along with he ability to deal with harmful free radicals.
